Information & Sample Instruction Sheets
LNER Class J15, 0-6-0 Tender Engine

PROTOTYPE. The Great Eastern Railway between 1883 and 1913 built this class of 272 locomotives. They were the classic maids of all work, as much at home on a country branch passenger train as they were on a main line goods or parcels train. Members of the class lasted until 1962.

KIT. This has been a much-requested kit by regular customers. The bodywork of locomotive and tender are etched brass and nickel silver. The chassis is all nickel silver. Slidebars and valve gear are represented between the frames. The cab interior is nicely detailed. Castings are used for the flared tender top. The instruction booklets are very comprehensive.

- Optional Plunger Electrical Pickups -
If these are desired as an alternative to the wire wiper pickups that are included in the kit. I would recommend the type produced by Slater's and provision is made in the kit chassis for fitting these (Slater's Cat No 7157).

Downloading the instruction booklets will allow you to evaluate the kit and its construction and help you to determine its suitability for yourself and your project. The booklets are made up of three parts :-
Download Etched and Cast Parts Identification Sheets
These are individual A4 sheets that identify and number in assembly order all the etched parts and have photographs of each casting, identifying them by name and listing the quantity of each. There is also a selection of photographs of a finished model taken from different angles.
I would recommend downloading and opening these sheets first as it will be almost as exciting as opening the real kit box and handling all the parts.

The booklet is designed to print as two A5 pages printed on each side of an A4 sheet of paper (set printer for portrait). Staple the A4 sheets in the centre and fold to form an A5 tentfold booklet.
Print each A4 page individually (set your printer for current page only). Then print the first pdf page containing booklet pages 1 (front cover) & 24 on an A4 sheet of paper. Turn the printed paper over and print the second pdf page containing booklet pages 2 & 23 on the other side. Then on another sheet of paper print the third pdf page containing booklet pages 3 & 22 and so on until you reach the booklet centre pages 12 & 13.
